So usually when I need a recipe for something, I scan through the tried and true Church cookbooks first.  (My traditional roots check out what the previous generations loved.)  If I can’t find what I’m looking for there, I jump to the internet.  I have found so many fabulous recipes out there!!  Here are two that I recently picked up.

I made this granola this afternoon, and I will be h000_2415esitant to ever purchase store bought again!!  Here is the recipe.   You will not regret trying this one out.  Plus it’s not nearly as expensive to make yourself.  Oh, and it is a great snack for the kids and you.  A few modifications I made to the recipe–I threw in a little extra honey and I used 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/2 tsp. almond.  I also used two non-stick jelly roll pans to spread it out thin so it baked more thoroughly.

I used to think that the only way you c000_2416ould have beer bread is by buying a special boxed mix at in-home parties.  Wrong!  It is very easy and so good.  I bought my first can of beer to make it a couple weeks ago, and you should have seen me blush at the cash register.  Silly girl.   Here is the recipe.   And remember to sift your flour!  It doesn’t take much time at all and makes a huge difference.  And only use 1/4 c. butter on the top–trust me, there will be enough butter!!  I have found that this also makes great toast in the morning.  Sadly, I could pound a loaf of this in 24 hours.

Have fun in the kitchen–your family will love it!
