We discovered pesto last summer so we planted gobs of basil this year!! I made the first few batches this morning. Wowza! The smell is amazing!!
Here’s the recipe I used.
Basil was picked and washed.
All was added to the Cuisinart + olive oil, Parmesan, salt and pepper.
Threw it in some containers, topped with olive oil, and tossed in the freezer. Pizza and pasta here we come!!!
We did look into canning instead of freezing, but I guess pesto is not safe to can. Always learning new stuff!
Love pesto & anything with basil! Have you ever tried basil with strawberries. It’s a GREAT combination. I made a strawberry basil frozen yogurt and we devoured it! So cool and refreshing.
