I’ve discovered something new in the last 48 hours.  It seems rather “duh,” but it makes a big difference in my daily life.  So here it is.  A “successful” day no longer means the same to me now that I am a mother of two.  I have this on-going to-do list and I was panicking because things weren’t getting crossed off it very rapidly.  Prior to having Espen, the more things crossed off in a day the more productive/successful my day was.  Now, the success of my day is measured in laughable moments, filled bellies, piles of dishes, nursing, tiny hugs, mountains of laundry, clean diapers, fewer melt-downs, disgusting diapers, big brother snuggles, nursing again…things that can’t be crossed off a list, but nurture the hearts and souls of two little boys.  I’m coming to grips with my days of full-time mothering.  It’s not always easy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything…maybe…most days…

Being a stay-at-home mom has great job security!!

(Did I mention Elias has a thing for his brother??)
