I’ve been binding away on a custom quilt for the last couple nights. I did a scallop border and it has been a learning experience! Everything about a scallop border and binding takes more time than a straight edge. I think it will be worth it in the end, but I am surprised at the extra effort. There is also not a whole lot of information on the internet about making scallops. I will have to post my method.
Some of you have been asking about my banana bread recipe that I made a couple weeks ago. Here it is…I usually double this and make 3 larger loafs with it.
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
3 ripe bananas (when my bananas get too ripe I throw them in the freezer–they turn black but are perfect for banana bread)
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp soda in 1/4 cup hot water
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups flour
Mix in order given–grease two loaf pans–bake at 350 for 1 hour. Toothpick should come out clean!
