I got this cool candle on vacation up in Northern MN. The candle factory called it a “Gump” candle because it is a ton of little layers of different wax from all their other candle making. Beautiful! Basically, a very green candle because they don’t waste any wax. Well the 2nd time we burned it, we had a fan too close to it and wax spilled down one side. I asked Tony if he could fix it for me while the wax was still warm. Ummmm…not to be negative on Tony but…are you kidding me???!!! Look at this picture! My poor candle! And Tony was surprised I didn’t think it looked good. Good thing I got over it fast. Now it just makes me laugh when I look at it. At least it still burns. A very gumpy candle indeed.
Thanks to Bethany, we made some fabulous Margarita Pizzas for the 4th. (Bethany has an awesome design business. Check out Emmy Lu Designs.) Homemade thick crust, brushed on garlic butter, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. I pre-baked the crust for 6 minutes in the oven, added the toppings, and then we threw them on the grill. It didn’t take long at all to cook, so keep an eye on it. I was a little nervous about not using sauce, but it was fabulous! The taste was so fresh and the flavors so simple.
Still not sure why they call it a Margarita Pizza since there weren’t any margaritas around…
