I am so excited to share this Movie Monday with you! This week I demo how to make homemade laundry detergent and homemade dishwasher soap. It is soooo easy! Below the video I wrote out the recipe for you. Next time you are at the store grab a box of Borax and Baking Soda to give these a try. (Plus, you can make gooey gak with the Borax. Your kids will love it!)
Homemade Detergents from Ingrid Barlow on Vimeo.
Laundry Soap:
1 Cup colorsafe bleach
2 Cups Borax
2 Cups Baking Soda
1 bar of soap (Dr.Bronner’s or a laundry soap bar)
Dishwasher Detergent:
1 Cup Borax
1 Cup Baking Soda
Vinegar in the rinse slot
Thanks for posting this on Movie Monday. I have been wanting to make my own detergent for a while now. I really enjoy your blog and have made a couple of projects you have posted about.
This is so great! My mom makes her own laundry detergent and shares with me sometimes. I can’t wait to try your recipe! 🙂
I love our home made laundry detergent, our recipe differs a little bit from yours, regardless we love the home made stuff!
We also use a home made cleaning spray (as opposed to lysol or a bleach wipe) and a shower spray (it uses jet dry to get a sheeting action but I bet vinigar would do the same thing.)
Congrats on winning the Debbie bliss book from Susan B. Anderson’s blog! I was so excited for the exposure your site is getting!
