I’ve been working on a custom Baptism Banner from my Etsy shop the last couple days.  I wish I could show it to you, but since there is personal information on it, I better not.  Instead I’ll show you Elias and Espen’s since I just put the last stitches in them this morning.

Have I mentioned how much I like these banners?!   Again there’s some bias there, but I do think they are pretty nifty.

Baptisms are such big events, but are also one of those challenging gift buying times.   The point of these banners is to take them out on the anniversary of baptism each year, hang it in a special spot, and help remind children of what a special event took place.  Create some excitement around an often forgotten day!

Elias’ banner header is “Chosen and Called.”  The custom one I just mailed was “Christ’s own Forever.”  Espen’s is “The Great Bath” because some amazing things happened when that water was poured over his little head.

Listed on the banners are name, sponsors, date, Bible verse, and location.  All good things to remember and reminisce about each year.

Instead of a Bible verse on the last one I made, this was requested.  “Give him an inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to persevere, a spirit to know and to love you, and the gift of joy and wonder in all your works.”  I couldn’t have said it better.  {I guess that’s why it made the cut into the liturgy for baptism.}

So glad these are done for my boys!  Next one to hang is on May 30th to celebrate Elias and his relationship with Jesus.
