My mom picked up this great rocking chair for me a while ago since she knew it would be the perfect one for recovering. I just moved it to our deck and I love it as an outdoor chair!! I decided it did need some freshening up though from this faded stripe fabric.
I wanted to use what I had in the stash and also something that would hold up outside. I picked some ticking. {I LOVE ticking!! Sometimes it does funny things to my eyes, but I still adore it.}
I “auditioned” the fabric running two different ways. Decided on the vertical division with more of the darker ticking showing to help with dirt coverage.
Stapled it to the seat directly over the old fabric using Grandpa’s old staple gun.
A good rocking chair outside is hard to beat! I have rocked in this chair almost every day since we moved here.
Here I am enjoying my woodsy haven. It struck me yesterday that I always wanted a wrap around porch… I have a huge wrap around deck now! GOD is GOOD!
